I know its been asked for before, but its pretty much essential, I tried using JACLPlus which integrates with CB, but the new user groups did not come up when creating new sections in the forum.

I was really excited to see so many people switching from SMF to fireboard since I've had lots of trouble with the bridge, but without this functionality I'll be stuck there for a bit longer

If anyone knows of a modified JAC, or has been able to get the functionality of 'private boards' based on custom user groups, please post em!

I wish Joomla would just add in custom user groups/access, there are so many areas where it is useful.

I love the looks of Fireboard, but I just can't use it either until and if the devs are able to put in custom user groups that we can use to grant/restrict access. Very excited to see that you are looking into it! I really want to be able to use a non-bridged forum!

Until Fireboard can be able to custom make user groups I too will have to wait.Our forum needs to have certain areas only available to certain members and currently that cannot be done. Please will this feature be available any time soon?

Same problem here....I really need this functionality...that's why I'm using a bridged SMF installation now. But I would love to switch to Fireboard as soon as this functionality is available.

In any case...thanks for all the work you've done sofar...it really looks great...

I've exactly the same problem as all the people above me already posted.
Being able to make a forum contents visible to the outside, but with the need of being regged to reply would be great. As well as creating user groups (with specific rights).

Basicly I'ld love to have that part based upon the phpBB right attribution system in Fireboard.

Edited : Noticed "JACLPlus" hopefully it helps doing just that.
