Yup, you may do so.

Go to Show From Each Thread and choose Last Only.

=)

*anyway, someone reported sqlgroupby error which seems to be distinct and does not affect other joomla! sites. however, to be safe, I released a new fix.

I like it!

Can you modify it so the latest postings can scroll up (animated text)?

I think they call it "marquee".

Thank you!

Is it possible to include other details in the listing? For example, I'd like to make it look like:

Forum name > Forum topic > Author > Date

Preferably in a table form, but list would be okay too.

I see the other details are included in the tooltips, and I've tried playing around with the .php file, but no luck so far.

Any help'd be really appreciated. Cheers

Very nice!

If you plan to add more features I would LOVE to see the following:

--"Teaser" text from the first x words of the forum post. That would be the first line in the larger font. The second line, in the smaller font, would have the topic title, author and date.

Including a teaser is such a powerful way of getting people interested in contributing to a discussion...

I would like to see a non-breaking space after the item #'s on the list. In Safari, If there is a long word at the beginning of the post, the text drops down below the list #.

Should be:
1. Item_long_name_here.

Shows up as:
1.
Item_long_name_here.

If you catch my drift. Otherwise, love the tabbed features. Very nice!

a very nice module

but only a small problem: it seems that it doesn't work with jaclplus.
it shows all the new threads, also if you are not within the group. if you click the new thread it says no access or not allowed.....

any ídea?

I installed 3 different Latest Module for comparison, they are:
I compared them by "publish" one at a time with the other 2 "unpublish", and load the website.

Amongst the 3, I love the outlook of FB Latest Post Module most.
However, it also slowed down my website most.

Average time to finish loading my website (tested on several computer):
  1. Fireboard Latest Posts modded AJAX version by Lemm - less than 1 second

  2. FB Latest Post Module by fuQaHa - around 5 second

  3. Show Lastest Subjects by BestofJ! - less than 1 second

Re:FireBoard Latest Module 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hi all - I have been working on adding new functionality to fblatest for some clients, such as: grabbing the most recent posts along with the first post from corresponding thread, teaser text of the posts, truncated to a user-specified length of characters, images from either post, and it works well...

I am new to Joomla, as of a week ago, and this is my first hack of a module. And, to make this work I used mysql sub-selects, and I was wondering if this would conflict with people's systems? I'm not sure what versions of mysql can handle sub-selects?
