Ok well first things first read the tutorial again... convert to fireboard 1.01 build 1 and you might have more luck THEN convert from 1.01 to 1.03

I tried this once, and everything seemed to work, but only few of my message were brought over. So I tried the process again, but this time I get "Access is denided" errors when clicking the button in com_smftofb. Why is this?

No idea bud, have you checked your file permissions for the directory and convert file? Also did you clear out your old databasebefore retrying?

Hi,

Followed all the steps. Didnt get any error. But i get the problem with the number of messagages transfered.

And also when i import the categories i tells me that it's truncated, is something missing ?

Some stats about the transfer

Before : There are 210575 messages, 5004 users
After : Total Messages: 193777 Total Subjects: 4326

I seem to lost a part of it, and everytime i do it again, i get a different number of messages transfered. And if i do it again without cleaning, i get more than supposed to be but with a lot of doubles.

What is the problem and how could it be solved ? Thanks for the help provided.

Ok, firstly what version FB are you using?? A lot of ppl are trying a straight convert to 1.03 which will not work, it has to be 1.01 build 1... Next have you checked your forum for apostrophe's in the category names (ie ' those) Also what versions of Joomla and SMF are you using?

If you have removed those then look at forums that have the same name ( I had 2 in my conversion, edit the names then onto the next thing)

Did you use the sql update attached to the first post? If not empty all your mos(jos)_fb tables and use the data in the script.

If all this has been done and double checked scream and post a reply

Yeah, file permissions was the problem. Thanks. I'm going to see if it converts all the messages now.

Many more messages were converted this time, but they were all mixed up and out of order.

I followed all the steps you gave and i used the files you provided (1.01 build 1), including the SQL data.

Had two categories with (' and i changed their name. Didnt get the error message later.

SMF 1.0.13
Joomla 1.0.12 (ugprading to 13 now)

Im not sure how it works with SMF1.13 to be honest, I tested it out on SMF 1.11 and joomla 1.012 then upgraded joomla afterwards, I dont see it not working with the newer joomla version though.

How competent are you at mysql? Can you check your db tables in (say) users, posts and categories against the structure of 1.11?
