I am getting too many new members joining my website and spamming. Sure I have moderators, but sometimes a spam message is up for 1 hour before it is deleted. I don't want to introduce membership approval as my site is eco based and my members aren't as confident about joining forums.

I need to do several things:

1. Only allow members to post a link to another site or hotlink pics after x amount of posts. Vb has this function and it works well.

2. In nominated threads, restrict members from posting links.

Any help would be appreciated.

Fireboard is not able to do this natively. I'm not sure that there are any add-ons that will either.

Yes, I have the same problem, the spam makes the WAY COOL FIREBOARD program almost unusable. I can't send anyone to any of my sites unless they want to read dozens of messages a day about viagra and other such junk.

Thanks for the response jddavin.

I thought when someone develops a script like fireboard, the most important element is security. This includes spam. I came here expecting a solution, but have gone away disappointed.

The forum script is functional, easy to change the design and administrator. I chose this script mainly because of the joomla integration.

I will be now installing VB as they have a bridge and they have anti-spam features that I need.

Do you mean VBulletin?

If so, I love that software, but it not as powerful for me as Joomla... I imagine there is no way to integrate the message board there for joomla?

I will wait to see if fireboard comes up with a solution.. it is a great program other than this one problem.

I also just found out how to upgrade to the newer version however, it does not seem to be the one step solution I was hoping for, but it is quite impressive that we can use this software and that they have a free version.

Yes, I mean VBulletin. It integrates with Joomla via a bridge. I have another site that uses Joomla/VB.

I like the eco theme... I have a domain called wildwoodworkout.com and cheapworkouts.com... have not worked on them for a while, when I get ready to complete and market, I will put a link to your site on them.

How did you get the nice images on the front page for say the classified ads? Just create a category, put in the html for the image and have it load there? Sorry to ask, seems like you are doing what I want to do!

Also, what plugin program are you using for access to youtube videos and so forth?
