Yes, it's that. You can check it at www.outcast.be

Our site has an old feel about it and we want to upgrade. We came across Joomla 1.5 and because we want an integraded forum, we would use FireBoard.

But it's not sure yet we will do it...

Any thought on when your converter will be ready?

PS: Is Joomla the best choice together with FireBoard or are there other solutions that might be better?

EDIT: Link doesn't work???

I thought I would have been done with it two months ago, but I just haven't had the time recently, and the more I put it off, the easier it got. Knowing that someone is interested in it, however, is a motivation for me. I just don't want to make any promises that I won't keep. I hope to finish it soon.

Joomla is a really nice CMS, and that's why more and more people are converting over to it. I personally like the way that fireboard integrates into it, but fireboard still needs some development time to have the same functionality as something like SMF. I can't make a recommendation either way. Any choice you make will have both positives and negatives.

Joomla looks indead better then phpNuke. I have it running now on my pc as localhost and it looks good. Only finding the right template will be harder. Not to many free templates yet for the 1.5 version.

I have added this to my favorites so I'll check from now and then... Maybe post sometimes "Is it finished yet?" to motivate you (just kidding)

Thanx already

How far are you exactly with your script?

Because if I've read it correct, you are putting in extra's for some modules in Joomla..

If it can already convert "phpNuke+BBtoNuke" to "Joomla+Fireboard" then it's enough. I will be starting from a clean install, so all other modules can be added later and they take the info themself then.

PS: I was happy to open the topic. Tomcat (the other Outcast admin) and I already talked about Joomla yesterday and today he's coming over to check it out further. But I'm already pretty sure we are going to switch. The only thing I need is to transfer the users and all forums.

don't stop there. Having the ability to convert yahoo groups into fireboard would be awesome. Our club site still uses yahoo as its main forum sytle. I need a way to bring the old content into fireboard. (maybe the members too)

Okay, I'm finally ready to pick things back up where I left off. I've been so busy with work and travel for the last four months that I haven't even touched this stuff. I've set aside time this week to work on this, and, work permitting, I'm hopeful that I can get something out there that others can test by the end of the week.
