Re:Created tool Re:>>>>phpBB2 to Fireboard and CB 6 Months ago
I did it online. The new site is not live yet, so we can do this. In the README it mentions the utility Bigdump which is what I used to load the phpBB tables into the JOOMLA databse since the site was so large.

My client was very generous to agree to release this converter GPL to the community. As it is custom for him however, I am not sure it works for all, so would like some feedback.

In my sleep last night I realized that the CB conversion needs some code added to work for sites without the mps add-on to phphBB. So I will try to upload a correction tonight.

The README does not explain the date option yet, since that is not yet retested.

Re:Created tool Re:>>>>phpBB2 to Fireboard and CB 6 Months ago
Since we will import the updated users again after testing, my client needs to be able to import all changes, new users and posts since a specific date. The code is in there but not yet fully tested. It imports all posts and users since the date+time plus updates any users who have logged in since that date and time if you select that option. Default is no.

The CB script is a 2nd script to be run after the first one and after doing a CB "synch" so no impact to you. However since we use the CB profile not the fireboard one ... for all I know there are imperfections in the fireboard profile import.

cool thanks for making it more clear.

would possible the piece of code out that would only import the phpbb2 users and convert them to joomla 1.5x users datbase.

as you mentioned there was a not a problem with the password authentication correct.. thats why i want to convert the users only to see if the passwords are correctly converted and work?

Yes it would be possible to cut the piece of code out to move just the users. If you use a start date (?start=anydateformatdatelike 7-jul-08 ), it does not drop any existing tables and only imports stuff from that date on so that would be a way to do a quick test.

BUT this is only tested with joomla 1.0.x - next week I will test for 1.5
