grumble marc, look at this thread in default template. It is even further broken. In default template, the last couple of posts look kind of normal but the top posts of page 37 are about 1 inch wide.

Whew! So it's not somehting that has to be looked at in the template itself. THAT'S a relief!

I've got more than I care to look at with this template as it is. LOL

Yes. NOT a template issue. Damned if I can figure it out right now. Your post seems to have broken it though Hazaa.

Hey. I have a question and I didn't see that anyone asked it but is there anyway to make the Categories tab open by default? Even swap places with the All Discussions tab? I would use the template and even modify it if I knew this was an easy fix.

Actually IE handles it better. I had this issue and was able to resolve it but may not work for you. On of your module/position is causing the issue. In my case it was the usermenu. I simply took out everything in my left menu and my issue was resolved. I too use FireFox but IE it actually worked. For testing purposes, simply make your modules not display in your forum and see what happens. Also test to see if this happens when you are NOT logged in.

Unfortunately, this ain't it... I have my template set using one of the "if" statements (as in if it's using com_fireboard, disable everything except what's in the header/footer so that the forum takes up the full width of the template without having to redo all the module publishings) so there's nothing there that could cause a problem. I even disabled every module used in the header/footer of the main template so that nothing was showing up but the forum and the same thing was happening when I scroll down and hover over an avatar. There's something screwy there and I gotta find it.

It seems that the numinu template is taking some of it's css information from the main template. To tell the truth there seems to be a lot of that going on with this template and I haven't been able to figure it all out. I'll try to work on that today and see what I come up with.

I got this problem fixed - I simply replaced the span.fb_quote definition with #fireboard blockquote and set the parameters there - worked like a charm - better, even.

Since you are working at this, there is no sense in me kicking into it. I will work on the .css formating instead.

Sounds like a plan, but like I said I think it's likely going to be late this week before I can send anything useful up... Not only am I spending a great deal of time on fixing *this* template, I have other work that has to be done too (especially if I want to pay the bills... LOL) It's too bad I am doing everything on an offline server at the moment - I'd send up a link for people to see the progress. Maybe I'll set something of an online demo up at the end of the week when I send up a package.

Swapping it can be done in the tab_list.php file - there are two sets of 's - just more the bottom one over the top one and voila.

Unfortunately though, it doesn't make the Categories open as default - it just swaps positions. I'm working on making Categories the default as that is what I was hoping to do - so plans are in the works.... and you're right, no one's asked in almost 40 pages so I decided to tackle it on my own.

I noticed that too that the listcat file isnt the only one. Thought I had it by adding some code from the default listcat but, noooooo it didnt want to play nice hehe. Mine is also on a local server as well, unable to show progress, maybe I'll take a screen shot or something.

I wouldn't worry about it for now... I've got it almost ALL fixed up (well - not all, but the way the listcat, showcat and fb_subcategory_list files work are almost finished).

And nope - using code from the default listcat does nothing but make you go prematurely bald. LOL I found that out the hard way - I actually had to WORK to make it happen.
