Hmmm, seems like your $_SESSION variable is not set then.
ok for this problem it's work, me i change like this
[code:1]define( 'JPATH_BASE', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] );[/code:1]
Replace
[code:1]define( 'JPATH_BASE', dirname(__FILE__).'/../../..' );[/code:1]
but
hélas the restricted access don't work, the users who i allow access don't see the forum, only the super administrator do..
Same, untill I rememberd a little something I read before. There has to be at least 1 person that is allowed access, otherwise everyone can see it. So, Set your admin account to be able to access it. Then check it with a demo account, it shouldn't be there. Then, give your demo account access, and it will be there. This fix worked for me, for the most part. Need to do a little more testing before I say its all working fine.
Added** Humm, I attempted to add a group of members to the list. It sat loading for far longer that I would have liked. So, while I waited I went back to my demo account. It now seems that I can't access my site. It just sits their loading, same as in my admin panel. Going to have to remove the addon it looks. Just a warning.
Added** Interesting, after I re-installed it, the permissions didn't work. I used a brand new install from the unedited zip file. took the new rpc and edited it, and no worky. Which I find interesting, since it was exactly what I did the first run through, and worked.

I get the feeling the rpc.php change is for the black box issue, which u already solved (i tried what you said and it didnt work at all when i was trying to add more users). Anyways, the problem with the logged in users who do have access to the private forum are still not able to see the restricted forums...
Any ideas?

Here it is for version 1.0.4
Same instructions as 1.0.3 changes
Also included much more comments so you can see the specific changes in the code for forward porting.
Let me know any issues and FB team please look at including this in the core going forward.
Is there any known conflicts with this mod working with Community Builder? Also does the mod Private_Forums need to be installed before Restriced_Forums or is Restricted forums the alternative update instead of using Private_Forums? By the way nice mod man, great idea.

So here is the 1.0.3 version.
Can someone please check this for me I may have forgotten to include a file or two in the zip, it is 9:30pn and i have been working since 5:30am so am starting to get just a tad delerious.
Anyone please let me know how it goes, and use the steps above to use it, ahh actually here they are now
Step 1: Backup your fireboard files
Step 2: Upload the files into the correct directories Directory structure from Joomla root withheld)
Step 3: Modify or create a forum via Components >> Fireboard >> Forum Administration
Step 4: Set the "Public Access Level" to the lowest level of private use (must be at least "All Registered", this shows it as a "private forum" so will allow you to assign users to it)
Step 5: Go to "Restricted Forums" from the Fireboard Cpanel or the menu
Step 6: Click on the forum you wish to assign users to
Step 7: Click "Add Users"
Step 8: Start typing the users name you want to add, as you see it in the list Click it (it will show up highlighted in the list box)
Step 9: Click Save
That's it the forum is now private. If you do not add users to the forum then it reverts back to standard fireboard functionality, if you add only a single user to the forum then only that user will see the forum, this means that even if you are a Super Administrator, unless you are listed as a user of the private forum then you wont see it in the front end, that includes you the person doing this.
I know that bit of functionality sounds odd, but the reasoning is that it is easier to create it to exclude all but the list than allow for super administrators, and in my system i have several super admins but they still don't have access to all. This means you also have 100% control over exactly who can access the forum rather than being group based.
If you find any bugs, issues or require additions please let me know and please let me know if it works and what you think.
Enjoy
Dan

What did you do to get the permissions to function? I'm able to have the links for adding members to restricted forums, though even though they have access, they can still not view that section of the forums.

If you read my previous posts. I have followed the directions, and am able to add users to "restricted" forums. But those people added are still not able to view those restricted forums.
