4) what you are saying here is: uninstall 1.0.3 and install 1.0.4 clean (not messing with any data tables, and things should be OK????)

Yes to both. I recommend it. ANYTHING you want to save should be backed up. INCLUDING your FireBoard folders in both the Joomla admin and components directories-just in case.

This forum was updated in exactly that manner.

I have the same problem, since I have update from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 ... not every new thread is marked as "NEW!".

Good luck Romas, I am still holding off trying to repair. I intend to restore the fb database from the back up and then run all the SQL scripts from 1.0.3 AND manually upload the 1.0.4 patch files.

If on the other hand I follow the same procedure as Romas won't it get messed up when I restore the back up of postings?

In this line from the backup the fields are separated by commas,

The upgrade inserts new fields will the data be mapped into wrong fields?

Just wondering.. I Upgraded my fireboard to 1.04 and and on the left side it says "Prune Users" instead of "Syncronize Users" from this other site I just installed. Want Tfirst site was an Upgrade version. Want to know if it will make any difference in performance.
On the bottom it both says "Installed version: FireBoard 1.0.4 Stable [ Teakwood ]"

What about "No line breaks in post."?

I just did the upgrade in the way I inquired about above, and so far so good!
I will let ya know if I have any problems. As of now I am quite happy, and relaxed..
