First let me say Outstanding look and feel!

Before converting to joomla/cb/joomlaboard my site was phpnuke/phpbb.

PHPBB provides an excellent function for group forums. Previously this was an excellent resource on my site and I would love to have the option in a joomla forum. We had a Moderators Forum, Musicians Forum, Christian Forum, etc. all where users could privately discuss amoung their group. Each group had a moderator who would approve a new user requesting group access.

I realize groupjive is available. But it is much more simple to have your groups in the forum and have all the extra functionality that goes with a forum.

Really, a native ACL system would be much appreciated to be able to create forums for special groups without hacking the Joomla! ACL. GroupJive will be great when a stable version will be released.

This is something that is/was possible already in Joomlaboard by using a 3pd-component called Group Access Component available from www.shadowrain.co.za/index.php?option=co...p;id=7&Itemid=31 in combination with some hacks in Joomlaboard that were findable in the TSMF-Forum but were deleted (I guess) recently.

I don't know if this can be done also in FB since I found FB just some days ago and haven't looked at the code already....

Mischa, FB is based on JB, so GroupJive surely can be integrated the same way.

Beta version...have at it. Readme file explains what to do with this. Works great on the site I tested it for.

but it doesn`t work.

I created an group but if i try to enter the groupforum i only get the Forum Index

P.S. in the Fireboard Forum Administration i see only the hidden category "clans" which i created for the groups...

but if i create a new group, it doesnt create an forum for the group
