TOPIC: importing data from another forum

importing data from another forum 7 Months, 1 Week ago
I'm in the process of rebuilding a site which will now use Joomla and Fireboard. The old site had a basic forum, which I built myself.

I would like to be able to bring over all the forum threads from the old site to the new fireboard forum. I realise that there's not going to be a quick and easy way to do this, but would appreciate some advice and the best approach.

Many thanks.

Do you mean you wrote the forum script yourself? If so writing a script to convert your forum should be child's play.

If not the above mentioned option 2 sounds about right.

Go into phpmyadmin
Download your tables and data
upload to new site.
15 minutes if you don't know what you're doing.

If you need a little help let me know

****EDIT******

I take that back, I just re-read your post and realized that your old forum was one you created.

In this case, I'ld have no idea unless you wrote a conversion script
