Depends on if you are using the light or dark variant of the template. I am using the dark variation and find the the "default-gray" template looks pretty good!

I wont comment on your alleged desire to help people, cause I think you're kidding yourself.
As far as your comment about me looking for a handout... two things.
1. I've already bought the $70 subscription to RocketTheme to use their really really professional Templates. They do awesome work, and I'm totally happy to pay for such quality. Hmm that's not a handout is it? I happen to be a back end developer, so my skills like in things like Weblogic, Java, etc. I'm just not CSS enabled. If I want art skills, I gotta subcontract em.
2. My post was and is at it's core trying to see if anyone has (a) created a nice matching fireboard template or (b) would like to showcase their mad-css skills (which again, I just dont have) and evangelize their template.
Also, my biggest problem now is that I've got 1.0.x and 1.5 both up and running nicely, and I've got to pick one to use, and I just can't decide... so I guess I haven't been wasting my time after all....

Umm yeah. Okay.
Don't understand why people always want to list their "credentials".
If I'm not mistaken RocketTheme also does FireBoard themes in their Rocketlauncher products Don't see why you wouldn't ask THEM for a matching template if you're "totally happy to pay for such quality"...

Wrong.
Only one template ever has had a matching fireboard theme.

Doesn't matter if ALL or only ONE template offered it the fact remains that RocketTheme MAKES FIREBOARD TEMPLATES TO GO WITH THEIRS. Did you request and offer to pay money for one? Doubt it.
