Danialt, can you repost the txt file you used for a patch? It appears that when ya'll made some changes it may have been removed from its dedicated location. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,James

I now this is a free component and like others have say you cant expect any support on a free component.
But how can you call something "Stable" when bugs like this still accurs?

I have no problem with the fireboard except for this reload twice issue.
Can you maybe put some effort in to solve this and think about the design of the site later?

This is not a bug. This is a deficiency of the design of the current code. It can not be solved unless rewrite of most parts of Fireboard. That takes time.

Not sure the reload twice thing should be called a bug. Its a design issue.

Anyhow I might just have created a fix for it while re-writing the session handling portion of fireboard.php

I was targeting the issues around NEW indicators and the 'Mark entire forum as read' - that did not work as expected.

When I was done re-writing the session handling I eliminated the double-load - for now. I have not had a chance to fully test it but its up and running on my site people are posting and I have not seen any issues tonight. Treat it like Alpha code.

Session handling in fireboard just sucks and that is main problem -> reloads, new markers, etc. I assumed so half a year ago, same topic, first page, may be developers are finally looking at this, that would be great?

(I just do not understand why fireboard on topic post, must load everything, print success message, then reloads everything

You might want to re-read the post above yours. This is a fix to the problems you are describing.

I've been observing this thread as I have the same problem. Now by coincidence the author of the JAccelerator component replied back to my question some months late of whether I should switch off the Joomla cache when I enable his component. He said yes I should.

Well since I switched it off today the Fireboard Forum reloading problem has gone.
