No "Import from Joomlaboard" button appearing 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am attempting to upgrade from Joomlaboard to Fireboard running Joomla 1.0.15.

I install Fireboard.

I go to Components>Fireboard Forum.

There is no "Import from Joomlaboard" anywhere. Not on the control panel, not anywhere.

What are you supposed to do in that situation to get Fireboard to import your JB info?

I have reintalled twice, hoping to get it to appear but no joy.

I appreciate the post.

At:
www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...w/id,27141/catid,79/
which is, to the best of my knowledge would be the closest thing to:
"Check the stickies in the Upgrading forum on CLEAN INSTALL?"

I find item # 5
5. Once you enter the control panel, at top of the page you will notice a dialog asking you whether you want to upgrade from “Joomlaboard” or a “Clean Install”. If you click on Clean Install you will have a fresh installation of Fireboard and necessary database tables are generated automatically.

which was the instructions I was trying to follow when I got stuck with the Fireboard component not showing me either the "Import from Joomlaboard" nor the "Clean Install" buttons after I had installed it.

So this brings me back directly to my original problem.

Any other suggestions?

OK, found the solution at:
www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...w/catid,79/id,44251/

Did as described - uninstalled Fireboard, dropped all jos_fb tables in database, reinstalled Fireboard, went to the component and voila, Import from Joomlaboard and Clean Install buttons appeared. I picked Install from Joomlaboard and it worked like a charm.

Thanks!

I am running Joomlaboard 1.1.2 and upgraded to Joomla 1.0.15, from 1.0.11. This caused Joomlaboard to quit working, so I went to look for a new version. I found Fireboard was the recommended path, so I installed the latest version, 1.0.5 RC2, leaving JoomlaBoard intact.

The install completed successfully, but there was no Import from Joomlaboard option. I removed the FB component, deleted the FB tables and reinstalled FB. Still no import option.

I also tried the FB converter component, but that did not work.

Ideas, anyone?

I forgot to mention I am also running CB 1.0.1, which I need to upgrade, but my immediate problem is with the JoomlaBoard import. I tried applying a higher version of JB (1.1.4), but that just got me some other errors, so I would still like to get FB running, but I need the import feature to work (or is there a manual workaround?).

Have you tried installing the 1.0.4 version of Fireboard, upgrade JoolaBoard and THEN go to 1.0.5? Perhaps the latest version has changed too much to support upgrading from JB any longer.

CORRECT!

If you want to upgrade from Joomlaboard, please install 1.0.4 first. Once converted, follow the upgrade instructions for 1.0.5

1.0.4 is the last version that supports a direct import from Joomlaboard on the first install. All newer version of FireBoard will allow you to upgrade from 1.0.4.

So the Upgrade path has to be:

Joomlaboard -> FireBoard 1.0.4 -> FireBoard 1.0.5 or higher
