Re:Fireboard 1.0.4 Upgrade & Intallation issues 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I need some assistance...

I am new to all of this. I just got joomla last week and I got Fireboard yesterday and I've have this one main installation issue.

It says the install is a success, but

I keep getting this message:

Creation/permission setting of the following directories failed:

/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/
/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/avatars
/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/avatars/gallery (you have to put avatars inside if you want to use it)
/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/category_images
/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/files
/home/bmbinfin/public_html/images/fbfiles/images

a) You can copy the contents of __fbfiles_dist under components/com_fireboard to your Joomla root, under images/ folder, rename it to "fbfiles" and then chmod it to 777 (making it writable)
b) If you already have the contents there, but Fireboard installation was not able to make them writable, then please do it manually.

permissions for all the directories have been set to 777.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled. My permissions still show 777 and I still have this problem.

What am I doing wrong?

You really should RTFM. Did you rename the __fbfiles_dist folder to fbfiles and move it to your Joomla images folder?

I was just about to say I realized what I was doing wrong, but jeez man..
the language is unnecessary..

just to show how new I am ... I have no idea where the manual is. it really isn't obvious...

like I said before I just installed my site last week, joomla a few days ago, and fireboard the other day...

thanks anyway...

Just upgraded from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4, with CB integration and UddeIM too. All working correctly, except for the quick reply box as per many posts before me, that I easily fixed just following moderators instructions.

Got indeed 3 errors:

1) while typing or modyfying a post, clicking on an emoticon icon doesn't produce anything

2) while in new post editing or in modifying, clicking on "preview" doesn't produce any effect

3) while in new post editing or in modifying, clicking on any button or using any function of the typography doesn't produce any effect

ANY IDEA? Maybe a matter of path? For the 1st item as above, where is located the code pointing to the emoticons files or their path?

Help very very appreciated.

Thank you all

My post preview button is also not working, the animated gif does its thing, but the preview never appears. I tried different templates with the same result. This was not happening before upgrading to 1.0.4.

Thanks!

I've tested IE and firefox, both latest versions, with the same results.

Of course, guy, Javascript is on and perfectly running everywhere.

The matter is the upgrade.

Is there any Best of Joomla team member takin' a look here?
