You will probably be told to read the other postings where you will see other people told off. There is reported huge differences between full package and upgrade for .04 and as you will read in this thread, this board has not been upgraded. A few programmers have managed to repair their installations and you are first expected to run various scripts mentioned in various places - then find the posts of people who have made hacks and apply those. When that is done post a notice on your site that the forum is unavailable as all you will get here is scolded to "read the other posts".

Mmmm Sounds like it's not as easy as some would make it out to be then Might be easier to get SMF intergrated with one of those bridge things.
I really thought after reading the reports on Joomla.org that this FireBoard was a breeze to install

Well, let's see if someone else comes up with something.

Cheers,

Phil

If you're new to Joomla the natural thing would be to install 1.5 but there are still a lot of people installing Joomla 1.0.15. I have both (ie sites on 1.0.15 and one running 1.5.1) and the reason for not always running 1.5 is that component support is not great yet, frankly.

Fireboard 1.0.4 runs very well on my 1.0.15 site and I won't be moving to 1.5 for a while.

The reason I'm saying this is that going with SMF or anything else might not be the answer, because they may well have problems on 1.5 too. 1.5 is new and you might consider looking at which version of Joomla is right for you, not which forum component.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. But if that's the case I think they shouldn't put the following in the discription on Joomla.org: Note: FireBoard is compatible with joomla 1.5 in legacy mode

Re:Fireboard 1.0.4 Upgrade & Intallation issue 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Quotation marks from old posts (but not new ones) are messed up on my forums after the upgrade. Check out the second and third quotes here for an example. Any ideas?

(I posted this problem once earlier, and had it deleted. I'm assuming it was posted in the wrong place - I did hem and haw over where the right place was. Or perhaps it is answered somewhere else, although I did do a search and read the "known issues" and didn't find anything. So, I would be very appreciative, if this post is somehow in error, if I could get at least a little direction as to how this post isn't up to snuff and how to fix it in the future, instead of summarily deleting it (which leads to reposts with the same error). The mods here have a tough and thankless job, and I appreciate all their work. I respectfully submit, though, that it is rarely good to have a harsh community ("your post has a mistake or is not up to snuff so it is REJECTED!" instead of a forgiving, open community that has some patience, and recognizes that people make mistakes in their posting or searching skills. Just my humble opinion. Thanks.

Hi everybody,

after upgrading to the latest version i get this

_FB_TIME_SINCE

in the post page beside the name of the author.

I did a search on this forum and i tried to define _FB_TIME_SINCE in the english.php file but with no result.

Anyone got the same problem?

Cheers

EDIT: solutions is here www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,co...w/id,42050/catid,74/

I did search in the forum but normally when do a search it will looks in ALL the forums, while on this one you have to search for every single different categories.
