hummm...

Thanks...maybe the solution is converting to SMF and then use your converter..because I wen I convert phpBB2 to SMF everything is ok!

What do you think?

Thanks

If you have a bulletproof solution from phpbb to SMF then good news as you said, 2 way migration.

Yes I have...sometime ago I tried to integrate phpbb with joomla but the bridges that exist have to many bugs and its a problem to install so I converted my phpbb forum to SMF (100% ok)...in hope to use the Joomlhack bridge...but...it didnt work like I want..
This story is only to tell you that the convertion to SMF went 100% ok.

Hi!

I think that I have to go back to this converter...I have to put my new portal online im loosing against competition..I have one of the most important Pet Portals in Portugal (www.oficinadosanimais.com)..now im using subdreamer and phpbb2, but I realy have to change to Joomla and FB board...it was love at first sight..Joomla gives-me everything that I need and this board is fabulous.

So..can someone help me make this script work?? phpbbtoFB ? Is there a way to make this scritp (were it breaks) a step by step (like the phpbbsmf converter)convertion...not all at the same time?? if this is impossible..can someone tell me what I have to ask to my host admin? Where must he increase the memmory in the php.ini??

I allready talked with im but I didnt understood what he was saying...He asked me in what variable he must increase memmory? maybe it was a missunderstood from my side or I didnt explain well to him what I need.

So..if there is no way to tweek this script to make it work..what do I need from my host? and what must I beg?

Sorry about my lousy English with time I will acheave perfection (modest...just kidding)

Are you saying that we can convert a phpbb to fireboard?
What if the phpbb I want to convert is on a different webhost than my joomla site with fireboard? Do I need to be a programmer to be able to do this?

Well, with security restrictions, it's hardly possible to connect to a database other then from the localhost. So it should not be possible to migrate form phpbb to fireboard from different servers. What you can do is dump your phpbb tables from one server, temporarily copy them to another server and then run the migrate script. You would need some knowledge of how to dump a database and copy them back to another database, and you would have to know how to configure the php-script in order to be able to migrate.

It's not difficult, but you'd have to know what to do.

My forum doesn't yet have a lot of posts on it so I'm not TOO worried about it, and the new site on the new server isn't close to going live but it would still be great if I could tranfer that info over. If it's not hard for someone that knows how to do it, would anyone here be interested in doing it for me? I know just very basics of working in phpmyadmin, wouldn't know how to do this though. I'll pay a reasonable fee to you for doing it too.. Let me know, thanks

Re:phpBB 1 Year, 4 Months ago
did neone else run into the "mosuser:tore failed..." error? I ran into it after running the converter... and realized today (a week after converting from phpbb to fb) that people were unable to register to my site.

so the solution:
If you look in your "jos_users" table, there is probably a user with "id" equal to zero. Change this to the next highest "id" number within that table and then set the "extra" field (assuming that you are using mysql4/5) to "auto_increment".

Phew... I thought I was screwed there for a sec.

Hi!

After allot of testing..I found a solution for my problem (MySql Cliente ran out of memory)..

I just imported the phpbb tables to my local server (home) and run the script that is in this topic...everything worked great, in my local server I can control my php.ini and give more memory and time on the load scripts, so now I have all the messages...topics and users...it was easy.

Now to put this on my real server I just use a tool called BigDump to export them to my real server...this tool as the ability to export small data each time so my server cant "say" that its out of memory...

Now I have one problem, my forum takes to mush time to load, I know that I have more than 3000 users and more than 110000 messages... but I am in my local machine!?!...now Im afraid that it fails to load in my real server...

First question - Why is my forum taking so mush time to load?????

Second question - After export the tables and data from my local server to my real server, what must I change to my joomla and fireboard to work, where in my Data Base are the fields that I must change? because everything is installed like my server is 127.0.0.1 address and I have to put them to work in my domain..(I think..)

Please some advise here...

Sorry again for my lousy English

Fireboard index page has a little problem for loading data from db. Danialt already fixed on SVN. Right now 20 times faster than beta-1 release. And they will more optimize db structure later.
