How to run SQL scripts -> the lazy man's way 11 Months ago
I just figured out an easy way to update your SQL database with the necessary script(s)! This eliminates database errors like the 'Invalid arguement supplied for foreach()' issue.

This applied to people like me who:
- Don't know anything about SQL or PHP
- Don't have shell access to SQL or PHPMyAdmin

You WILL need:
- to be able to install a joomla component.

1. Go to the Joomla extensions website and download a component called EasySQL.

2. Install the component, and open it. Don't play with any of the settings here.

3. Open your appropriate SQL script text file from the new version of Fireboard, and copy and paste this text (minus the silly header picture thingy)

4. Press 'exec SQL'.

5. Done/Profit!

Looks like this might be something to add to your Joomla tool chest! I haven't used it as it seems to be pretty new but thanks for the heads up.

When you download the new version of Fireboard (1.0.3 or something) there will be several folders in the first zip file. One of those folders is called 'Upgrades' and contains three SQL scripts; one for each previous unstable version of Fireboard.

You need to use the appropriate script to fix everything. You will need to read the PDF in there to find out which version you have.

Whenever I execute any query in EasySQL i get following warnings -

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/blackie/public_html/kiwicard/includes/database.php on line 433

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/blackie/public_html/kiwicard/includes/database.php on line 440

Shall i make this particular file writable?? or wht is it?

it worked for me, too. but: now I have my categories, with all the threads, but it says "0 posts" and "0 Replies", even though there are plenty in each category. how's that???

...uh, and the buttons are gone, instead I ony see text links...

Perhaps you need to recount your statistics? You can do that in the fireboard menu in Joomla.

Or you ran the wrong SQL script?
