Hi all,

New here and have ran into a snag with this. I am currently running Joomla 1.0.15 Stable and Fireboard 1.04 Stable and I followed everything to a "T" concerning the installation several pages back.

Well my issue is when after the install I set it up via the instructs and when I went to check out the front end I clicked forums and guess what? I get this message in the addy bar - ?mosmsg=ERROR%3A+Unauthorized+Access. Every link I click on I get the same message and it doesn't go to that are of the site.

I feel this has something to do with this install as again I state that everything I install I test out everything right after the install to check out the functionality of each Component and Module.

Please I need help. I have even gone in and restored my fireboard files and even did a uninstall of fireboard and re-install. Still same thing. Basically my site is locked

Thanks much in advance.

That would be "NO" as the alpha has been abandoned. Development has now focused on 2.0.

what is this release of 1.0.5 RC1? I thought you said they were going to 2.0.

Should we upgrade to this new version or is it safe to stay with 1.04?

If you want a privy section stay w/ 1.0.4! I made the mistake and now I can't lock down forums without the hack?

I would love to be able to make a forum that is accessible only to selected users, but in the course of this thread I have really lost track of what works and how to do it.

I have Fireboard 1.0.5 on Joomla 1.5.7. Is there anyone who can tell me if it will work with these versions, and if so which posts are the ones with the right instructions? I am sure that would help many others besides me.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, we're going for 2.0, but wanted to close the 1.0.x branch with a really stable and well done release, fxstein and racoon have been working on it for quite some months already, and is by far, the most stable, and feature crowded release of FB to date.

It is safe to stay with 1.0.4? yes, it's better to upgrade? indeed. Also, right now, as far as I know, only FB1.0.5 forums would be albe to upgrade to FB2.0, so, you can do one step already and benefit from the goodies on this version

Althought is important to note, that FB1.0.5 has no 'selected users' private forums, has restrictions for joomla ranks (registered, autor, editor) but not forums for user X, and user Y banned from it.

hi to all,
i've got a strange kind of problem and i cannot find a solution reading these pages (or i cannot see it):
When i add users to private forums it work great unil the 11th user i add.
I cannot see allowed users in the forum backend (i can see the first 10 and the navigatio button, but they don't work).

In my opinion shoud be a bug but maybe it is an error made by me... i didn't know.

Thanks for reding

Francesco

Update: i don't know if it matter, but the user i the 13th!

Here are some notes I took after piling through this topic, and yes the author could have just updated the original (1st) post, but he probably became just as frustrated with this mish-mash forum software as the rest of us;

Step 1: Backup your Fireboard files
Step 2: Upload the files into the correct directories (follow the archive directory structure) from
Joomla root)
Step 3: Modify or create a forum via Components >> Fireboard >> Forum Administration
Step 4: Set the "Public Access Level" to the lowest level of private use (must be at least
"Registered." This shows it as a "private forum" so will allow you to assign users to it)
Step 5: Go to "Restricted Forums" from the Fireboard Cpanel or the menu
Step 6: Click on the forum you wish to assign users to
Step 7: Click "Add Users"
Step 8: Start typing the users name you want to add, as you see it in the list Click it (it will show

How do you set a forum as a private forum? I don't see a button anywhere...

I created a category, and a board inside it, set the permissions to Registered, include child groups etc., but I don't see a button to signify it's a private board.
