Another update:

Spent all night yesterday to figure out how to add javascript to the ant build process for FireBoard. The build is now 100% automated (unless I missed something) and even generates the file lists for front- and backend fully automated from within Eclipse based on the most current SVN on the dev system.
This used to be a big issue as the list of files (more than 500 by now) had to be maintained by hand, and why pulling packages had become so much hassle.

As soon as I can get a couple clean runs out of the SVN, I will start publishing complete FireBoard packages, that install through the regular joomla install process.

This will allow us to publish nightly builds on a regular basis, without the need for folks to physically touch the SVN or use any SVN tools - you still can, but you wont have to.

So far I have run over 100 builds, improving the process and increasing automation.

Please keep feeding the bugs you find. I will soon get to them. It would be very helpful if somebody could compile all known ones in this thread into a single post.

Thx a lot for your help and support!

bug in 1.0.5 (possibly earlier versions too), localhost, joomla 1.5.3. when deleting a post that contains uploaded image and file:

uploading and posting has no erros, but when i delete the post as admin, the following message appears and the files are not removed (only the post):

Warning: unlink(D:wampwwwinfinity/images/fbfiles/files/template_img_thumbnail.txt) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in D:\wamp\www\infinity\components\com_fireboard\template\default\post.php on line 1886

Warning: unlink(D:wampwwwinfinity/images/fbfiles/images/template_img_thumbnail.jpg) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in D:\wamp\www\infinity\components\com_fireboard\template\default\post.php on line 1886

D:wamp/, www/ and infinity/ should be separate folders, but the error message treats them like one single folder

Some more bugs
#1 the positions not working in J1.5.X: fb_1, fb_2, fb_bottom, fb_top, fb_msg_1 (After first post),fb_msg_2 (After second post).
#2 _SHOW_YEAR (default_ex, J1.5)
#3 FireBoard Comfiguration -> Discussbot -> Show Bot Reference Chart not working, it returns Restricted Acces, but I don`t use this feature, if it were for me I would remove it. (default_ex, J1.5)

I have posted a nightly build package from the latest SVN racoon and I have been working on. Some of the bugs in this thread have been fixed but not all. This is the new installer, that can do installs and upgrades. As this is a nightly build only PLEASE do not use in a production environment.

In order to upgrade an existing test install, simply uninstall the old component and install this package.
ONE BIG MISSING THING: The configuration is currently not preserved. We are working on a db level configuration that needs a little more work. Also if you do an upgrade, some of the upgrade SQLs will fail. That is OK. Its hard to guess the prior release as we did not store any release info in the db so all prior upgrade tasks are performed. Depending on what level you are at, some will fail.
The upgrade will continue without interruption. The SQL errors are for your info only.

Last but not least, this has been built with a fully automated build process.

Hope this is a step into the right direction.

Happy 4th of July weekend!

just installed the nightly you posted here - the files that go to /images/fbfiles/ folder, still leave a copy in the /components/com_fireboard/_fbfiles_dist/ folder. intended?

Hi fxstein, i currently check if follow-nofollow is really aplied ok in the forum. Why is nofollow a link to an article on my own site ? Is this intended ? I just put a link on my forum to a sample article on my own site but it appears that it's nofollow. I guess only external links should be nofollow. of course some more flexibility is needed here but in my opinion there is no need to nofollow an internal link.

Hi,

if one will upgrade from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5 for example. Are the installed and by one modified fb templates preserved on webspace in place, or has one to backup and after upgrade reinstall all (10 to 15) previous installed fb templates?

Greets

just backup directories with templates before upgrade and then restore them. don't restore default and default_ex template (it's included in the fireboard)
