Create a Custom Help Page? 2 Months, 1 Week ago
My boarders are kinda older so many of them are not familir with how to use a bulliton board. I need to create a custome help page within Fireboard and get rid of the standard Joomla message.

I was able to do this for Rules, but can't find any specifics on how to create it for a Help page. BTW, I'm not very good at php so if I need to edit something please be as specific as possible.

Many Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I normally just put a quick description of how to use boardcode and a the credits.

For an example have a look on one of my old test sites:

I figured it out

From the info I got in the forums, I took a very complicated way to change my rules page. I went into the admin > components > com_fireboard > language > english.php and actually changed that file by adding html code. I thought I would have to do something similar to create a custom Help page.

It turns out all I had to do for both was create articles in Joomla and set the "Help Content ID" and "Rules Content ID" in the Fireboard Configuration to those article's ID.

Duhhhh....yeah, I should have probably been able to figure that out by myself, but without any documenation I wasted a day on it...live and learn I guess. I just hope this post helps someone down the road.

Peace:.
