this is a total newbie question...i have an idea that i might need to upload the files directly via FTP...but want to ask here. i tried uploading the package as i installed fireboard but got error message so apparently that's not the way to do it.

i guess i should first ask, am i still needing to upload these patch files if i just installed fireboard 1.0.4 stable? i'm assuming since the files seem in chronological order of when released that the patch files are needed for the stable version?

anyway, sorry for the stupid questions...total newbie here and hey we all have to start somewhere, right?

Hi,

to install Fireboard 1.0.4 for the first time, you need to install the stable complete package only, via joomla installer, like other components, too.

If you upgrade Fireboard 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 you need to install the stable patch files, by overwriting the related files and folders via ftp.

If you, and only than, have some issues with one of these installations (complete package or upgrade patch) on your side, it is possible to install a special developers patch, SVN#551 by fxstein, by overwriting the related files and folders via ftp. Such a patch has NO stable status, but maybe fix some issues in some situations.
