How do I keep the category menu static so that when you press Category A the content appears next to the category table?

I have customized fireboard so that the categories are like in a list. So I would like to have this list visible always at the left and the content (forum posts) appear next to it. Currently, the left list will always disappear when I select a category to display forum posts.
