I've been experimenting with using Joomla and Fireboard for a website, and I'm new to both of them. Both of them are current. The fireboard installed fine, and seems to work fine from a user point of view. I was experimenting with some of the administrative options, and I'm finding the Edit Smileys and Rank Management fields a little buggy. Both areas are behaving almost the exact same way.

For the smileys, I can add new smileys just fine. When I try to edit one, the code, URL, and EmoticonBar options are all there, but with default values. If I enter what I wanted that smiley to be and save, instead of going back to the index and seeing the change, I end up at the New Smiley dialog, and the modification didn't take. Also, when I try to delete smileys, I get a system message that tells me the smiley was deleted, but looking at the list shows the smiley still there.

Ranks are almost the same. The only difference is in editing ranks. When editing the URL field, I could select one of the images. For ranks, the rank image field is comppletely void of all the image options. Again, adding a new rank works just fine, and deleting them gives me a rank deleted message, yet the rank is still there.

I haven't installed anything into Joomla except the fireboard so far, and the fireboard is practically unmodified at this point, only category and forums were created. Does anyone have any idea where the problem might be?

I have exactly the same problem, is there anybody with a fix for this?

What version of FB are you on? Please alsways provide version information of FB, Joomla, MySQL and php as well as OS of the hosting platform. Without that this it is hard to help you. Thx!

Thank you for responding to this. I have read a lot and it seems that this is a known bug with no apparent fix as of yet. I am running v. 1.0.4 stable (teakwood) on J! 1.5 (in Legacy mode) MySql v. 5.0 and the OS is Linux Red Hat 5 Enterprise. In looking through the php of FB it seems that there might be an issue around line 2546 or so. A friend of mine pointed out that there is a 'create table' but not a 'delete table'. Thankfully I have access to my DB and I was able to go in and delete/modify everything I need as far as ranks are concerned, but it would have been a lot easier to do if the admin of FB worked properly. When creating a new rank, the fields are not populated with anything, until you try to save the rank and then you get a message that says a value was left blank and then there are the images where they're supposed to be. Once a rank is created, you cannot modify/edit it, nor can you delete it. If you try, you'll get a confirmation message that it was deleted but it is still there.

I am running FB on multiple sites and this issue is constant, of course they are all on the same host/server set up.

I confirm this bug too. Running fireboard 1.0.5RC2, I can't edit smileys or ranks from the admin panel. The only way is to manually copy files in the template directory and edit the database.

In the admin panel of fireboard:
smileys are correctly listed but when I try to edit one, there are no available images in the combo box...
and then impossible to confirm : missing parameter.
