Does anyone have an update on this issue? Downloading and installing the zip mentioned (in thread below) did not do anything, perhaps it's now been superseded?
I installed Joomla 1.5 with CB 1.0.2, then Fireboard - did the "clean install" database thing, but still got this error message. I've seen the error on other forums, no-one has posted a [SOLVED] thread!

I've now done this on two different site installations, with the same error message, and the same inability to apply the suggested patch. Help please!
Cough cough, ahem, I've since realised there are two component directories, one in the root and one under /administrator/...you can guess which one I had uploaded to. Now all is clear, and all is working, and man does one have to re-read file paths carefully...Thanks...

Cough cough, um, now uploaded the file to "/administrator/components/com_fireboard/" (not "/components/com_fireboard/" and yes, IT WORKS! Yeah! Didn't see that little "administrator" at the start of the file path, made an assumption, ahem...
