I have tried to install capcha images but i get the same error:

This feature really does need to be built into fireboard although. I've tried using Cedrics CAPTCHA and always had trouble with something.

I haven't looked at it in a while because Community Builder finaly put CAPTCHA into their mod, but built-in is so much better.

Check out the RE edition. They have a CAPTCHA feature that works great!

Long term I want Captcha integrated. Once you've been spam-botted, you'll realize that this is mandatory, not an optional feature.

My spambot has been posting messages at a slow steady rate of 5-10 per day. I've been deleteing them as soon as they show up, but some board users were still seeing them before I could delete them. It was annoying.

Given that I'm running Joomlaboard on my production site, I decided to give Wolfgang's hack a look. It's small, non-intrusive and works great. He simply searches the name, subject, and message for a URL of any kind and returns an error if the user is a guest and is trying to post with a URL. The user is told that it's not supported and then offered a chance to copy the original message for a repost. That last part is nice to your *real* guests that went thru the trouble of posting a message and did not know the guest post rules.
