How do I install Fireboard?! 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I'm new to fireboard, and I'm really confused on how to install it. No offense but the manual, its not really helpful...AT ALL when it comes to installation. 1. First, unpack the archive on your local computer. First, unpack the archive on your local computer.
2. Go to your Joomla! Administration à Installer à Componenets
3. Select the package and click on “Install”.

What do i select to install from the Joomla! Admin installer?? The .zip I downloaded for fireboard had many files, also it contained moe .zip files. i'm so confused how to I install it? the manual jsut makes no sense to me...

Hey, you should have folder named "com_fireboard" or something, copy this to your server root directory, for example, and then select this directory from "Joomla/install Components". You can get the exact directory from ftp manager`s upper "address" bar, just copy-paste it to the Joomla component installer.
I personally use SmartFTP.

Please check the Documentation forum. It has a thread that outlines the process in detail. But to sum it all up, it installs like any other Joomla component.

im still very confused, and i have tried the documentation forum topics. Im so confused, out of the .zip file that i download from here where does it go? people say put it in the component folder, but there is a component folder and a component folder in the admin section. I'm so confused. And as to putting the com_fireboard folder in the root directory, I have 2 domains on one file hosting plan. =/ just reall confused here...

I don't know what to tell you then. The instructions are perfectly clear IF YOU FOLLOW THEM. The number of domains has nothing to do with it. However if you do not know how to install a Joomla component then it may not be so simple. If that is the case perhaps you need to FIRST check the Joomla help pages.

It's pretty much step-by-step but without the pictures. The problem is if you don't know how to do basic things (this goes for anyone) like "unpack the archive to your local computer" then you'll be playing big time catch-up trying to get a handle on Joomla/Fireboard.

Re:How do I install Fireboard?! 9 Months, 1 Week ago
I gotta say, the techniques are different, but the principle that has occurred to me as I learned the jargon from the Joomla forums then proceeded to install every feature I could get my hands on... it's kinda like installing an operating system then adding all the programs like office and utilities, etc. I was so naive even just a week ago that after installing CB I looked around for the forum, like it was supposed to come with it .
Anyway, most things fit like, mod_*.* is going under install modules from the menu, com_*.* is installing components. Components come first because thats the core of the "add-on" like a program, and mod is just the place that the com interacts with input/output interface, so it usually winds up in a physical place on the webpage. It's really an awesome concept, but took a few days to absorb cause I learn by getting the instructions, looking at examples, then actually going through the motions thinking it through. I dont think I ever found an answer to a question without going off on tangents looking through forums. I have 5 or 6 forums bookmarked in a folder next to 15 other "joomla sites, all in a week. That's how you install Fireboard.
