Re:SMF to FireBoard 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I have posted to Fireboard and the message also does not appear. I know the MySQL is old but I do not have any issues running anything else. Is their a limitation in Fireboard? I also get the database working fine up to the point I open a message. Is there something in the conversion script that needs to be tweeked for MySQL 3.23.58?

It did work fine on my dev server but how can only the message text not show?..

Database Version: 5.0.19
PHP Version: 4.4.2
Web Server: Apache/2.0.55 (Unix) PHP/4.4.2 DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.0.55 OpenSSL/0.9.7l
WebServer to PHP interface: apache2handler
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.0.12 Stable [ Sunfire ] 25 December 2006 01:00 UTC

Any help is really appreciated. I have rolled back to my SMF install on my live server so it is not super urgent.

Re:SMF to FireBoard 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Have tried the conversion from SMF to FB and I have the following error on running the script:

[code:1]Populating Categories...

OK...categories and boards imported successfully!

Populating Users Table...
, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
Total users 140, Inserted 75 of the users...

(NOTE: If inserted is less than actual, it is due to the user having made a post but has since deleted their account. The post will still show up as usual though...)
User import into JoomlaBoard successful!!
Populating 714 messages into JoomlaBoard.
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's Reports'' at line 1[/code:1]

When I look at the backend I can see the categories and the users, however the frontend now crashes with a message:

[code:1]Fatal error: Cannot redeclare timeformat() (previously declared in /home/.../forum/Sources/Subs.php:830) in /home/.../components/com_fireboard/sources/fb_timeformat.class.php on line 52[/code:1]

610 of the 714 messages made it into FB.

Any ideas how to proceed? Should I try an smf -> jb -> fb conversion?

Geoffrey

If you are using the JoomlaHacks bridge try unpatching in the component install menu.

im getting the same stuff, i found it out day after i did the conversion.
I was so happy when i saw the succesfull conversion i just closed the window and asume that everything went well, seems like it din't go wel at all stupid script wont work on me what ever i try.

anyways the sql syntax i don't understand it has something to do with the server version of mysql, but it's wierd since there are not 2 seperate databases or there are not on a other server so why give a version problem????

and for the redeclare problem, just like downunder says unpatch the joomla index.php in the smf bride and the forum wil work just fine.

To everyone that is attempting to convert from SMF and receiving the Cannot redeclare timeformat error, please make sure that all SMF modules and mambots are unpublished. That has been the issue with every single install of FB converted from SMF with this error, unless I missed one that is different. Double check the mambots.

Also, make sure that your bridge is uninstalled. If using the Joomlahacks bridge, because it makes changes to core Joomla files, you have to restore the files that are modified. Please check on the Joomlahacks forum for help with this.

Thanks!

Hopefully when the dev team has completed the actual "official" SMF to FB converter, it will.

Yes, I was talking about the yet to be released converter. Also are attachments imported (thats a VERY important issue for me, we have like 10.000 or more attachments on the current forum.
