have you actually uploaded the bbcode plugin folder, and it might be worth waiting for the joomla tinymce to be updated to 3... as it already contains the bbcode plugin, and it works really well, I just cant get any thing to save, so hopeully someone will release an updated version of tinymce

Hi there!

"how stable" is the current implementation?

I would like to use the JCE Editor, but MCE would work just fine, as long as it works stable

unfortunately i have no "test fireboard".... so would someone post his experience in implementing?

best wishes
Chris

for the bbcode plugin to work, you have to install the plugin by uploading it to the plugin folder

/mambots/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/

And even then Im not sure if it will even work, but its worth testing

Is it just me, or is it a little ridiculous for Fireboard to NOT have a native option for WYSIWYG? PHPBB, SMF, and all other top of the line forums are beginning to realize the the FUTURE is wysiwyg. I know that on my smf board, we have wysiwyg and our users love it. We use the hoteditor mod, and it is simply 1000 times better than the bbcode that seems to prevail throughout the forum community. What I don't understand however, is why? It simply does not make sense to me.

Instead, you have a bbCode Help bar up above........that just seems silly to me.

But anyway, I guess a crazy mod instead of simply providing an option after install for wysiwyg is the way to go.

They can see an example of the TinyMCE working with Fireboard here.

A plugin was created to insert videos.

Other than the spacing on enlarged letters not working correctly, not bad. Still should be native in the new version of Fireboard.

Hi, I downloaded the second version of this mod, and applied everything correctly (I think). There are only a couple things I had questions about.

1. When a user types in < or > it shows &lt; or &gt;, and if they use the special character button (I added that one) it does the same thing.
2. Text alignment does not work. (I just disabled it for now, it's not vital)
3. When replying to a thread, all of the past posts to a thread display at the bottom like normal, however they display raw html code. So hello shows up as <strong>hello</strong>.
4. The preview button does not work.

I have changed some things to make this work with JCE instead of TinyMCE however I used it beforehand with the original TinyMCE code as it was intended and found the same issues. Anyone know how I might fix this? Other than these issues, this is a great mod and I'm very happy with it, though I agree that a native WYSIWYG editor should be included, and it's usage left to the discretion of the site admin. Thanks everyone who has worked on this, and anyone who might reply to my questions!
