Thanks, we are all excited to be able to get this rolling again and experience the fun of working on a project like this once again. Of course, having an active community is definitely a bonus.

Fireboard is a great new to all joomla+smf users(bridged), congrats to the dev team of this project!

With the merge of JB and FB is it wise to upgrade all Joomlaboard sites to FireBoard as soon as possible? How about all sites indexed by Google. I have a couple of very large forums running that Google is indexing every day. Is it easy to write an Apache rewrite for that?

What versions of JB can be upgraded to FB easily?

I am very pleased to see that you have joined forces. I love JB and the simplicity of it but missed the development of nice addons. Great that FB is helping to make this component the nr.1 extension for Joomla

Honestly and this is my personal opinion only.
If you dont' have any issues with JB, wait a bit. The current version of FB is just initial and might contain some bugs.

Whatever you decided to move, MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE IT.

I wrote an redirection-script (without using Apache rewrite) once, when I already had to take the path from Simple- to Joomlaboard. Someone might be able so easily adapt that to Fireboard:

I can't make that anytime soon, since I completely agree with ivo: My JB is running fine at the moment, and I put a lot of effort into customizing it.


I just hope that it will be possible to smoothly switch over from a couple of future versions of FB too.

A very good news!! I am a long time joomlaboard user... the new fireboard additions has made it more elegant and userfriendly....
