This will be a core Fireboard hack. I am hoping since the file modifications are pretty small that Fireboard will add this into the core.

If not I will patch each version that comes out.

At the moment you can have it running if you don't mind managing things through the database. For some reason all my clients decided this was the week to keep me busy so havent had a chance to get this out yet. I really want to finish it so I can start the migration of my site from e107.

Oh and I would be so greatful for a template that words can not explain. My site is www.silvertails.net (it runs on e107 at the moment and the design is messy. So not sure what I want just a sports site styl theme, with some spots for images. but let me get this hack out first before you even begin)

Yup xmas is over and back at work today, the xmas break took its toll on me and am under the weather.

I just downloaded the 1.04 version and am looking at the changes now.

Still need to complete the admin screens which is the hardest part, once that is done I can release my code changes.

I wanted to check there were no licensing issues for me to use a hacked up version of the AJAX auto complete found at nodstrum.com/2007/09/19/autocompleter/ for this addon.

Basically for adding users to the private forums, rather than loading a complete list I am using a search box where you start typing the members name and it auto completes with the user name for you, that way it should save time.

So can anyone let me know if there are any licensing issues with doing this?

Thought I would provide an update on this.

The entire project is 99.9% done on the 1.0.3 release, I only have to finish the function to remove the users which I am doing now. I will then quickly adapt this over to 1.0.4 which shouldn't take long as I do not change any core functionality only add to it.

Once it is done I will release it like an update version so you just overwrite the files, there will also be a database update involved as it needs to create a table, but this will be an invisible process.

So at this stage very early next week, unless my GF allows me some time on the weekend to work on it.

Wow, that sounds great! I'm looking forward to that essential functionality, and hope that the FB Devs will adopt the patch into Fireboard in the longer run.

Regarding the license: in the Readme of the ZIP is says MIT License, so it should be OK (IANAL, tough).
