Quotation marks from old posts (but not new ones) are messed up on my forums after the upgrade. Check out the second and third quotes here for an example. Any ideas?
(I posted this problem once earlier, and had it deleted. I'm assuming it was posted in the wrong place - I did hem and haw over where the right place was. Or perhaps it is answered somewhere else, although I did do a search and read the "known issues" and didn't find anything. So, I would be very appreciative, if this post is somehow in error, if I could get at least a little direction as to how this post isn't up to snuff and how to fix it in the future, instead of summarily deleting it (which leads to reposts with the same error). The mods here have a tough and thankless job, and I appreciate all their work. I respectfully submit, though, that it is rarely good to have a harsh community ("your post has a mistake or is not up to snuff so it is REJECTED!" instead of a forgiving, open community that has some patience, and recognizes that people make mistakes in their posting or searching skills. Just my humble opinion. Thanks.
For anyone else with this problem, I'll answer my own question. It turns out that this has to do with what are called "legacy HTML tags," so doing a search for "quotes" or "quoation marks" probably won't lead you to a solution if you don't know that the underlying problem deals with "legacy HMTL tags."
This thread discusses the fix to the problem.

Ok I am done with this crappy Board
It is so fucking buggy I can not believe it, I can not upgrade it to latet verion I did everything and still does not work
Hopefully phpbb3 bridge will be out soon
I though first fireboard is really good, but Joomla really lacks its own attached forum, like drupal has.
Fireboard does not deserve a comment easy instalable, because it is a nightmare
Crappy board

Fendy your use of language is colourful to say the least. Actually, I think Fireboard is pretty fantastic, especially since I haven't paid a penny for it ! I am grateful to the developers who provide their time free of charge to non-techies like me. After deleting all the tables in the database I was able to make a clean install of Fireboard. Strangely it kept all my users but lost my Topics. I am now back in business. Crap is not a word I would use for Fireboard.
