Fireboard 1.1.0 is a new framework that will be the successor of previous 1.0.x releases. The new additions to this release are the J1.5 style of organization in the codes (MVC) and few bug fixes. Fireboard, as the successor of Joomlaboard, was carrying a very patchy structure and code segments and thus at some point further feature addition to the low quality model of the code was not feasible. Pleasantly, with the assistance of one of the core developers of Joomla!, we started to reshape Fireboard toward Joomla 1.5 native structure, in a way also not to break the compatibility with previous versions of Fireboard itself and also Joomla! 1.0.x version.
As for the changes, the major part of effort has been done on re-coding the administration section in the new framework style; also as a proof of concept; and will eventually continue to frontend sections.
This is an alpha version and its main purpose is to familiarize the developers and community with the new coding standards. Please DO NOT use it for production sites.
In order to install this release you should follow these simple steps:
- Install Fireboard 1.0.4 stable
- Overwrite the zip file content on the Joomla directory. When you open the zip file you will notice that it has the same structure as the Joomla! root directory. This will also ease the SVN update procedure.

We did numinu template for next version but I released numinu 1.0.3.0.Alpha version for testing. Some functions are disable and it doesn't have bestofjoomla.com fbprofile and userlist plugin, because it can not work for regular sites.
It would have a lot of conflict with different joomla template, please let us know. For bug report please use numinu template topic:

Fireboard 1.0.3 Stable is going to be released on 5th of September. The feature additions will be freezed after this release for 1.0.x series and this series will be maintained and bug fixed continually to improve the stable version. In this release you will find upgrade instructions from 1.0.0, 1.0.1 beta, 1.0.2 RC2 to 1.0.3 Stable instructions. We kindly request from our translators to contact Jan Erik and join the translation work group. He will guide you on how to participate in the development cycle and our dev. forum. Best of Joomla! Fireboard team is proud to announce the release of Fireboard 1.0.1 Beta version.
The new release addresses the most important features and bugs since the first release of Fireboard. Hereby, we thank our developers and the huge support from the community. Really, you made people feel the power of open source once again. No need to say that we are now the top rated project in extension directory and the #3 project on joomlacode with more than 40k downloads so far and counting!
Alright! Back to our release: The new features that you will see in the new version are as follow:

Exciting things are on the Fireboard horizon. Today marks the announcement of an updated Fireboard Roadmap and the announcement of the first, of hopefully many, Officially Supported Components.
Fireboard is a powerful Joomla! native forum and is one of the most popular open source software projects in Joomla world.
This document seeks to explain the version numbering schema used by Fireboard and to provide a roadmap that outlines in broad terms the development path of Fireboard for the foreseeable future, incorporating both new technologies and long sought after features.
